The University at Albany has a long history dating back to 1844 when it was established as the New York State Normal School to train teachers. The University Archives eventually began collecting news clippings that while not created by the university could potentially be of interest to future researchers interested in the University at Albany.

This collection contains newspaper clippings broadly related to The State University of New York at Albany, including construction projects, athletic events, notable speakers and noteworthy students, professors and alumni. Clippings come from a range of publications, ranging from local publications such as the Albany Times-Union to national papers including the New York Times. Clippings cover a period from roughly 1945 to 2002, with the bulk focused on the 1960s through the 1980s.

Collection organized alphabetically by subject.

All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
